Event: It's Nice That | Here London 2017 / by Sukari Keetin

I will not be attending this year's It's That's Nice - Here 2017 event, but it hasn't stopped me from fanning out over their dope list of speakers this year. Two artists I've been following for while now are photographer Juno Calypso and photographer and art director Carlota Guerrero.

About Carlota Guerrero
Barcelona-based Carlota shot to fame this summer after producing the artwork for Solange’s acclaimed album A Seat at the Table. “The album has a very strong message about black community, and I had to learn a lot and help her translate such strong messages in a beautiful and clear visual language,” says Carlota.

Her dreamy, ethereal images are empowering and emotive and provide an acute sense of beauty whether she is photographing people or inanimate objects. Carlota signed to WeFolk earlier this year and has shot for POP, Nylon and Coeval magazine. Her work displays a quietly assured approach to image making that is at once calm and powerful.
